Project Description:
Expedition cruise tourism in the Canadian Arctic with approximately 100 passengers from around the world. Our ships, the M/V Akademik Ioffe and M/V Akademik Sergey Vavilov will drift or drop anchor while passengers disembark into small inflatable boats. Passengers will cruise in zodiacs or will go on shore landings where appropriate. One Ocean Expeditions is a Canadian company and has been operating expedition cruises in Nunavut since 2011. We will operate two voyages on the M/V Akademik Ioffe and 5 voyages on the M/V Akademik Sergey Vavilov.
Summary of Modifications:
For our Canadian Arctic 2017 expedition cruise season, we are repeating work and itineraries almost identical to our 2016 project and prior years. We are adding in the community of Grise Fjord to our schedule for 2017 and previously visited Grise Fjord in 2011 onboard our vessel. Aside from the community of Grise Fjord and some landings on southeastern Ellesmere Island, our project and itineraries remain similar to previous seasons. NIRB # 12AN025
