Luxx Diamond Project (148669)
Proposal Status: Conformity Determination Issued
Project Overview
Type of application: Amendment
Proponent name: Mr. Mike MacMorran
Company: North Arrow Minerals Inc.
Schedule:
Start Date: 2018-03-11
End Date: 2019-03-10
Operation Type: Seasonal
Project Description:
The Luxx Property (“the Property”) is located approximately 60 km north of Chesterfield Inlet and 90 km north of the town of Rankin Inlet (Figure 1). The Luxx property consists of 3 mineral claims and fits within National Topographic System (NTS) map sheet 55/O12. The proposed land use activity would be conducted during the spring and/or summer months of 2018 and would be run out of Chesterfield Inlet – no camp is proposed as crews will stay in town. Personnel working on the project may vary and typical personnel requirements will likely include 1 project geologist (with the possibility of up to 2 geologists/geo-technicians), 1 helicopter pilot, 1 helicopter engineer and 4 or 5 contract drillers. The drill program would run for approximately 1-2 weeks and drilling would be done with a small diamond drill transported by helicopter. The Luxx field program would be conducted in two phases. Phase 1 is planned for either spring or summer of 2018 and would involve drill-testing a small number of land-based and lake-based targets. Exact drill hole locations have yet to be determined however it is anticipated that three to four targets will be tested by three to six drill holes (approximately 500-1000 m of drilling). If results of this initial work are positive, a second phase of drilling (Phase 2) may be conducted in late summer 2018 or at a later date. Phase 2, if warranted, would likely involve further delineation of targets identified from Phase 1 drilling.
Summary of Modifications:
This is an application for a one year extension of Land Use Permit #N2016C0005. The original proposed work program has yet to be completed so as a result it remains exactly the same as was previously proposed approved. Only the timeline of when we hope to complete the work has been updated to 2018.

Low level flights will be necessary at the Hall Beach airport and at the drill site locations for pick up and drop off of drill crew. Minimum allowable flight altitude will be reached in between take off and landing. Wildlife will be watched for around the drill site locations and landing at that location will be delayed until wildlife have moved on. Helicopter can set down elsewhere to allow wildlife (or hunters) to move on.
ii. If such flights are or may be absolutely necessary, will they avoid disturbance to people and wildlife?
YES
iii. If not, explain why it is not possible to avoid such disturbance.
